We had a fairly large installation of solar panels, batteries and gateway which all went to plan and is working as planned, allowing for the often dreary English weather.
Everything completed much quicker than expected and appreciated SSU focusing on completing everything with a focus on the little details, such as the tiles for the in-roof solar panels.
We are in a no-gas area with ASHPs as well, so having the batteries and gateway, together with a fairly good app, has enabled us to manage much better, when we pull electricity from the grid during the colder months, so that we fill the batteries during the low cost hours and always ensuring that we are on battery power during the high cost hours 4pm to 7pm.
Scaffolding company used by SSU were also great and the site was left clean and tidy after everything finished.
We are using Sigenergy batteries / gateway, which provides a proper backup in case the grid goes down, with zero interruption to WiFi, which is great when working from home - so far would recommend this setup, especially if you have 3-Phase as we do. Would also recommend going with in-roof solar panels if you can afford that little bit extra, as visually it looks great

The Team are very knowledgeable and helpful, SSU Sized and spec'd our system to suit our fully electric house and installed while we were completing an extension so the install timelines shifted and were then very tight on time, but SSU pulled it out of the bag to install the solar before our builders removed the scaffolding.
Would happily work with SSU again for any renewable systems, and looking forward to utilising our solar system fully and possibly extending our battery storage in the next 12 months.

We had solar panels installed by SSU renewable, they were a wealth of knowledge and answered all our questions quickly! They were very professional, clean, tidy and kept us updated at every point. Had a 16 panel 6.6kw system with battery installed, unbeatable price by a long shot (had quotes even from up north too), installed the best quality panels and battery, set the system up, app installed and explained, export tariff advice given, ev charger integrated, mcs certificate given, and when they’d left, couldn’t even tell that workmen had spent the day. And the best thing octopus have already projected a £100 a month saving at least. I love how the app tells you how may kg of coal and co2 was saved, and in less than an hour of the system being up, late afternoon, I’d saved 2 trees from deforestation 😎 want them back in a Birmingham for heat pump and other neighbours wanting systems. Thank you Gentleman.
It was great to work with SSU Renewables to have our solar array installed. They provided excellent advice and were very knowledgeable. The after service has been great as well and they have assisted us where needed. Would 100% recommend using SSU Renewables.
14 x 410 watt panels 5.74kw system + 3.3 kWh battery
I had my solar panels installed in July 22 (10 panels in 3 places on the main roof) then further 4 panels on the flat roof in October 22 (slight delay with manufacturer for panel trays).
I have all angles covered, from sun up to sun down. It's certainly made a difference to the electric bills, I have a dual fuel bill that has gone from £244 a month before the solar system install to £83 a month now.
Thanks to Danny and Aaron's initial consultation they recommended the best set up for me, kept me informed at every stage, and in plain terms for us less techy minds!

We had installed solar in 2011 and it needed an upgrade plus a first battery. SSU were chosen after a recommendation by a friend and neighbour. They were so professional throughout the process and including all communications. They not only made me feel confident in the additional system through their explanations, I did not feel pressurised.

I’m happy to recommend SSU. I’m delighted with the work they did. Aaron did a site visit and was very responsive and helpful with quotes. I did quite a lot of to and fro getting the combination I was happy with and Aaron was helpful and flexible.
The installation went very smoothly. The scaffolding company used were really friendly and professional. The install took a few more days than planned due to some very bad weather. Some panels got scratched during install but Aaron proactively said he would replace them and did.

21 solar panels and a 10kwh battery installation completed in July 2023. Given it a few months run-time to be sure it does everything we wanted - which it does! Masses of generation in summer and smart use of off-peak battery storage in winter. From quote to post-install support we had a great experience with SSU- Renewables. Professional, responsive and quality products.

The guys at SSU-Renewables have been first class, from the initial scoping to the post-installation support. They took the time to understand what we wanted to do and what our budget was, before visiting the site and assessing where best to install the panels. They then provided a fully costed proposal with equipment details, estimated energy production and an ROI calculation showing the payback period (all based upon specific energy costs).
The installation was quick and painless and the team talked us through how to understand the energy usage/apps etc. There was a delay with the install due to a supplier issue - but they kept us informed throughout so we knew when to expect the panels.
Finally, they have been excellent after the installation, responding to any questions we have very quickly and thoroughly. I would not hesitate to recommend SSU-Renewables - and have a few friends who have also used them and are very happy with their work!

Aaron and Dan from SSU fitted my solar and battery system in May and it is working well. The Givenergy and Myenergi kit is good quality and the installation went smoothly and was fuss free. Communication with Aaron has been easy and he is very responsive including helping with WiFi network issues after the install. I was a little uneasy paying a large amount up front but needn't have worried as you can trust these guys to deliver what they promise.
SSU were the first to quote, and were very willing to adapt a design to my specification. They also resolved an issue with wifi signal in my garage before I asked about it. We were also able to get the higher export limit from the power network in my area, which maximises my return. I could not recommend them more!

Aaron and Danny came highly recommended by two friends down my road who’d had systems installed. Aaron popped up to do a site survey and roof inspection and the first quote was with me that evening. Subsequent quotes followed tailored to my own consumption figures & various battery options. Any questions were rapidly answered, even after hours and over a weekend. 👍

Highly recommended ….. small enough to care, big enough to cope.
